MEET FOZIA IZHAR, THE WOMAN BEHIND THE NAME.
For more than twenty years, Fozia Izhar has followed a career built around something she has always understood instinctively: an idea becomes far more interesting when you find a way to bring it to life.
Based in Dubai, she has developed her work across womenswear and children’s costume design, moving comfortably between clothes created for everyday life and pieces intended for an entirely different world — the stage. Her catalogue describes her approach as one centred on elegance, individuality and purpose, with a distinctly contemporary point of view.
That breadth has become part of the identity of Fozia Designs. There has never been a need to choose between fashion and costume, simplicity and occasion, tradition and something unexpected.
There has only been the question of what the idea calls for.

FOZIA DESIGNS WAS NEVER CREATED FOR JUST ONE VERSION OF A WOMAN.
A woman can want simplicity one day and colour the next. She can dress with modesty without wanting to disappear, carry her heritage proudly and still make it entirely her own, or choose something simply because of the way it makes her feel.
Fozia Designs was created with all of those women in mind.
That philosophy now lives across six clothing lines — Basic, Print, Modest, Luxury, Ethnic and Mood — each exploring a different approach to dressing while remaining part of the same design house.
Because personal style was never supposed to stay the same simply because the label inside the clothes does.

EXPERIENCE HAS GIVEN HER A POINT OF VIEW, NOT A FORMULA.
More than two decades in design bring an understanding of fabric, proportion, construction and the small details that can completely change the way a garment looks and feels.
But experience has never meant finding one formula and repeating it.
Fozia’s work has continued to explore colour, modest dressing, occasionwear, print, cultural influences and custom pieces. Each has given her another way to approach design and another reason to keep experimenting.
That willingness to explore has shaped Fozia Designs into what it is today: a brand informed by more than twenty years of experience, with no intention of looking the same for the next twenty.
CUSTOM DESIGN
HER IMAGINATION HAS NEVER ENDED AT THE WARDROBE.
Costume design asks a very different question from fashion.
Instead of beginning only with the person wearing the clothes, you begin with a character, a story, a culture, a piece of music or an entire stage waiting to come alive.
That challenge became another important part of Fozia’s work.
Through school costume design, Fozia Designs creates for young performers and productions where clothing becomes part of the storytelling. The work may call for theatricality, movement or a completely different visual language from womenswear, but it draws on the same ability to understand an idea and decide what it needs to become.
RECOGNITION
ALONG THE WAY, THE WORK HAS FOUND RECOGNITION OF ITS OWN.
A career spanning more than twenty years is made up of thousands of decisions, experiments and pieces created long before an award ever enters the picture.
